Meet Pastor Robert
Rev. Robert Smith
Reverend Smith attended Graham High School, Bluefield, VA and Bluefield College; he majored in Philosophy and minored in Business. He received a Master of Divinity from Duke University. He has served churches in Tennessee and Virginia. In Virginia, he has served in the Tazewell District and the Wytheville District. During his 32 years of ministry, he has served in various community actives including Kiwanis, disaster relief, ministerial associations, and he has developed or assisted in developing outreach programs.
Rev. Smith has also served on district and conference committees. Rev. Smith and his wife, Pat have five adult children who live in East Tennessee. They enjoy traveling around the country. A favorite (and necessary) pastime is working at their home and small farm in Tennessee. They have had cattle, chickens, and they enjoy gardening.
Meet Pastor Cooper
Rev. Danielle Cooper
Danielle was born and raised in New Bern, North Carolina, the youngest child of Betty H. Hargett and the late Daniel A. Hargett. Her family was extremely active in a small United Methodist Church and that is where she answered the call to ministry at the age of 17. She attended Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC majoring in Sociology and Religious Work with a minor in Music. Upon graduation from MU, she attended Duke Divinity School and received a Master of Divinity. She has served a variety of large and small churches in North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee. She is an Ordained Elder in the Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church. Danielle is married to DeWitt Cooper and has one daughter. She is currently homeschooling her daughter and enjoying serving the church. Her interests include traveling, cross-stitching, singing and being involved in civic organizations.
